Did you know that there is a Code of Ethics for Realtors®? The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) publishes it’s Code of Ethics every year and members (i.e., anyone who calls his/herself a Realtor®) has an obligation to adhere to the standards set forth in the NAR Code of Ethics. The Realtor® Code of Ethics includes provisions for a Realtor®’s duties to each other, the public, and to customers and clients (for copy of the NAR Code of Ethics, see their website, www.nar.org). There are interesting updates in nearly each of these three sections every year as the business and relevant technology evolve. If you’re planning to make a move in or out of a home anywhere in the United States, make sure that you’re working with an agent who has made a commitment to adhere to this Code of Ethics.
At Leaf, Realtors®, we follow this Code of Ethics closely and discuss the developments to the Code. We have regular, open conversations with each other as well as other agents in the community about the best ways to adhere to a high standard of ethics. We do this not only because of our obligation as Realtors but because we believe it’s the only way to conduct ourselves both personally and professionally.
To talk to a Leaf, Realtors® agent about what we do to integrate ethics in our real estate advisory practices, contact us through our website or by calling us at 908-975-9756 and asking for our Broker, Kelly Gordon.
